Itinerary

Morning – Township Experience

Your day begins with pick-up from your accommodation in Cape Town.

Travel approximately 15km from the city centre to explore several of Cape Town’s most significant townships. These include communities such as Langa, Gugulethu, and surrounding areas, each with its own rich history and cultural identity.

During the tour, your guide introduces you to local residents, shares historical context, and offers insight into daily life, past struggles, and ongoing development. This is an interactive experience designed to create real connection and understanding.

Midday – V&A Waterfront & Robben Island Departure

After the township tour, return to the V&A Waterfront for a short break and refreshments.

From here, board the ferry to Robben Island at approximately 12:50.

Afternoon – Robben Island Heritage Tour

Cross Table Bay on a scenic ferry ride to Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of South Africa’s most important historical landmarks.

Upon arrival, a former political prisoner or guide leads you through the island, including the maximum-security prison where Nelson Mandela and other anti-apartheid activists were held.

The tour provides powerful insight into South Africa’s past and the struggle for freedom and equality.

Return to Cape Town

After the island tour, return by ferry to the V&A Waterfront. Guests may choose to continue exploring the area or return directly to their accommodation.

Martina Kimmel

“I was in Cape Town with my husband and sister, and we spent two wonderful days with our tour guide, Collen. He organized a perfect wine tasting at various wineries. When Robben Island couldn't be visited due to strong winds, Collen was very flexible and took us through the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, where we also enjoyed a delicious lunch. I highly recommend Collen to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, and extremely friendly guide for Cape Town and the surrounding area.”
